“Live less out of habit and more out of intent” – a saying Abigail Smith, fourth year Chamber ambassador, tries to live by. Abigail grew up in Kankakee and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) with degrees in marketing and fashion merchandising. She also received her Master’s in Business Administration from ONU.
For the past four years, Abigail has been working for the family business in Real Estate Development for Hunters Run Subdivision and Ruben E. Smith Construction/R & R Inc. Her main responsibilities include customer relations,
keeping up with the real estate market and listings, helping to hire, and maintaining online presence.
Motivated by creative projects, sunshine, and a little bit of caffeine, Abigail describes herself as ambitious, dedicated, and creative. Her hobbies include web design, cooking, Pilates, raising, riding, and showing Arabian horses. Abigail competes with her Arabian horses at a national level all over the United States. Abigail has a Standard Poodle named Violet; 2 cats, and several horses.
Abigail became involved in the Chamber to get more involved in the business community. She enjoys meeting other business professionals in Kankakee County who truly love their community.
“The Chamber is a great way to network with those who also have businesses within our area and learn what is happening in our community, share ideas with one another and educate ourselves through chamber events,” said Abigail.
