Q: What documentation is required to apply for a mortgage?
A: Supporting documentation is not required when you submit a mortgage application. When your application is received, the lender will provide a Loan Estimate that discloses important information such as the interest rate, monthly payment, and closing costs for the loan you have requested. Once you decide to move forward, we will request documents to verify your personal information, such as assets and income. Your loan officer will direct you as to what specifically is needed, but the most common requested include: most recent 30 days of paystubs, W-2(s) for the past two years, two months of bank statements, copies of IDs or Drivers licenses, and real estate property information.
