Meegan is a 2019 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. During her time at SIUC, she was highly involved in the executive committee of the women’s fraternity Alpha Gamma Delta. While an active member of this fraternity she held the position of Vice President of Philanthropy where she planned and organized numerous successful fundraisers to aid in the fight against nationwide food insecurity. Upon graduating, Meegan had the opportunity to study abroad in France to complete her degree. While there she had the opportunity to be taught by many renowned business leaders including a member of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics marketing committee, the owner of the largest Italian brand of women’s tights and the CMO of Godiva Chocolate. Upon her arrival back on United States soil, she jumped immediately into an internship with CSL Behring in their Business Technology department where she was tasked with creatively “sprucing up” their procedure manuals. During this 3 month internship she learned the ins and outs of business professionalism, took charge of organizing activities for the other Business Technology interns and was able to volunteer with organizations like United Way and Visit Kankakee County at the 2019 Bears Camp. In August of 2021 she accepted the role of Marketing Coordinator with Visit Kankakee County where she continues to strive to make a positive impact in the Kankakee County communities by promoting the area as an overnight destination, a great place to work and a great place to live.
She currently serves as a voting member of the Kankakee Development Corporation Board of Directors and is part of the Marketing and Mural Committees. She is also a member of the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional Networking committee, has recently become an ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Illinois Destinations Association marketing committee, and the 2024 River Valley Regatta planning committee.
Meegan is a cat-mom to Rizzo. She resides in Watseka, slings pizza at Monical’s in her free time and takes her job in travel & tourism very seriously by snagging cheap weekend plane tickets to palm tree paradise.
Fun Fact: I went to the Illinois State Talent Show two years in a row for vocal performance and my go-to karaoke song is Baby Got Back.
