Ambassador Spotlight – Shannon Moore

Shannon Moore's first involvement as a Kankakee Chamber Ambassador volunteer was marked as 2005 in the Kankakee Chamber archival records. At that time, Shannon was a fresh new Banker working at HomeStar Bank as a Business Development Leader where he helped expand the bank's footprint into the City of Kankakee in the early 2000's.

Shannon is now the Community Banking Manager & Loan Officer for Federated Bank located in Bradley specializing in Commercial & Business Lending along with Residential and Consumer Loans. Shannon has 20 yrs. of extensive experience in the banking industry and is recognized for his exceptional leadership and commitment to community-focused banking solutions. Prior to joining Federated Bank, Shannon held key positions at leading financial institutions, where he successfully implemented strategies to enhance homeownership and consumer lending options focused on Low to Moderate income earners throughout Kankakee and Iroquois Counties.

Also serving as a passionate civic volunteer, Shannon has decades of community volunteer service under his belt and has held executive positions on many local Non-profit Boards of Directors including BBCHS Academic Foundation, Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra and Bourbonnais Friendship Festival, to name a few.

Shannon is a southern gentleman originally from Blytheville Arkansas, about 40 minutes south of Memphis Tennessee. Shannon is also a US Navy Veteran who served on board the USS Suribachi in the early '90s, earning the National Defense Service Medal for service performed during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Shannon lives in Bourbonnais IL with his wife Nikki Moore, owner of Little Me Studio children's art, music and learning center. Shannon and Nikki have 2 girls, 2 boys & 2 beagles that he said always keeps them on their toes. In his past time, Shannon can be seen zipping around town, flying through trails or hovering across the ground in one of his electric scooters, bikes or hoverboards.

Interesting Facts About Shannon:

·        As a Ladies Couture Shoe Salesman at Neiman Marcus in the mid ‘90s, Shannon sold high-end women’s shoes to the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Denis Rodman.

·        Shannon ran into, then Arkansas Governor, Bill Clinton in the elevator at Pebody Hotel in Memphis TN as he was campaigning for the 42nd US Presidency (just a good old couple Arkansas boys)

·        An avid Tenor Vocalist, Shannon has earned several tenor solos over the years, performing with the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra in front of scores of concert goers.
