The Salvation Army of Kankakee will be serving a Thanksgiving meal on Wednesday
November 20 th from 12 pm to 2 pm at 148 N. Harrison Dr. Kankakee. The meal and entry
are free.
“The Salvation Army is proud to offer Thanksgiving meals to our community each
year.” says Lieutenant LaToya Surratt, head of the Salvation Army of Kankakee, “We
typically host 300+ individuals and families.”
With the great need in the community also comes the great need for volunteers.
“We are once again asking our community for volunteers. We need cooks, servers,
volunteers to set up and tear down and volunteers to clean.” Surratt stated, “Volunteers
are the bread and butter that make our events successful.”
