KANKAKEE, IL (November 19, 2024) – Notice is hereby given that the City of Kankakee Economic & Community
Development Agency (ECDA) will accept the proposals for FY 2025-2026 Public Service Program, which is
funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG).
The Public Service Program provides financial assistance to local non-profit community agencies that provide
services for low- to moderate-income individuals and families in the City of Kankakee. Possible examples of
programs that are eligible for funding may include, but are not limited to: education, family and individual
counseling, mentoring, health screening, and transportation. Projects should be consistent with the City of
Kankakee’s Consolidated Plan. Funds are not to be used as a startup, but should provide a quantifiable increase
in the level of an existing service.
Interested applicants can obtain an application packet only after attending a required informational meeting on
either December 3, 2024 at 12pm or 5:30pm, or December 5, 2024 at 12pm or 5:30pm at the City of Kankakee’s
Economic and Community Development Agency, located at 275 E. Court Street, Suite 201, Kankakee, IL, 60901.
