Free early-childhood resources and developmental screenings will be available free for local families at the Kankakee Farmer’s Market
Kankakee, IL – The Success by 6 coalition will host an Early Childhood Fair at the Kankakee Farmer’s Market on Saturday, June 29 from 8 AM to 12 PM. This free event is geared for parents and children from birth to age six and will include booths and activities from around 20 local early childhood service organizations.
In addition, a free developmental screenings will be made available for children ages 5 and under through the Succes By 6 Family Support Bus partnership.
Other organizations participating in this year’s fair will include: Birth to Five Illinois – Region 32, Central Citizens Library District, Child Network, Childcare Resources & Referral, the City of Kankakee’s ECDA office, Easterseals’ Jumpstart program, Harbor House, Kankakee School District #111, the Kankakee State’s Attorney’s Office, K1 MOMCO, Olivet Nazarene University's School of Education: Child Development & Early Childhood Education Programs, and more.
Success By 6 is an early childhood community collaborative dedicated to supporting Kankakee and Iroquois Counties through family and parent engagement, early behavioral and mental health services, and greater awareness of resources for parents, caregivers, and early childhood providers. Success By 6 is jointly funded by United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties and the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley.
